On the morning of September 23, 2019, the first session of the Lecture Series on Park Economy and Economic Development titled “Park Economy in the Eyes of the World Bank” was held at the Institute of International and Area Studies (IIAS) of Tsinghua University. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Zeng Zhihua, Senior Expert of the World Bank and presided over by Prof. Wang Yong, Associate Professor of the Institute of Economics, School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University.

On September 20, 2019, the Institute of International and Area Studies (IIAS) of Tsinghua University successfully held a lecture on “Rethinking Area Studies in a Global Framework – Taking Asia Studies as an Example” presented by Professor Tansen Sen of New York University Shanghai and commented by Professor Arunabh Ghosh from Harvard University. Associate Professor Cao Yin from Tsinghua University presided over the event.

On July 10-12, 2019, the first Tsinghua Area Studies Forum hosted by the the Institute of International and Area Studies (IIAS) of Tsinghua University was successfully held at Tsinghua Park.

On the afternoon of December 24, 2018, the Institute of International and Area Studies (IIAS) of Tsinghua University held a New Year’s networking event for students at Office 205 of the Central Main Building, which is the first major event held by all students since the opening of the new office.
